About the Role
We're looking for an Asset Management Analyst to support the asset management division of a New York-based multifamily real estate portfolio (74 properties). This person will work directly with the Asset Manager, acting as a key point of contact for reporting, data, and communication with investors, lenders, and the property management team.
This is a full‑time remote position for a candidate based in Latin America.
What You'll Do
- Pull and prepare reports from our property management system (AppFolio) — rent rolls, T12s, custom reports — and organize the data in Excel
- Respond to incoming requests for financial documents from investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders, and route information to the right people
- Track recurring reporting deadlines (monthly investor packages, quarterly lender reports) to make sure nothing falls through the cracks — currently ~20-30 properties require monthly investor reporting
- Read and understand rent rolls (units, rents, lease expirations) and T12s/P&L statements to answer basic questions without needing everything explained
- Build simple reports (e.g., lease expiration tracking) using AI tools like Claude
- Communicate directly with investors, lenders, and the property management team on report requests and follow‑ups
- As you grow in the role: review financials for inconsistencies (missing accruals, unusual variances) and support basic cash forecasting
- 3-4+ years of experience in commercial real estate (multifamily preferred, but office/retail/industrial experience also considered) — OR experience in finance, investment management, investment banking, or accounting with strong financial statement literacy
- Experience in either asset management or property management (both are welcome)
- Excellent written and spoken English — this role involves direct communication with US‑based investors and lenders
- Highly organized, proactive, and autonomous — able to manage multiple deadlines without close supervision
- Strong communication skills and financial literacy (comfortable reading a P&L / rent roll)
- Experience with AppFolio or similar property management software
- Familiarity with AI tools like Claude
- Experience working directly with investors or lenders in a reporting capacity
- Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, accounting, or related field
