The AML Analyst is accountable to follow approved, documented processes and protocols to analyze information and adjudicate system or manually generated alerts. This role involves identifying names, entities, and transactions that appear to relate to money laundering or terrorist financing and escalating these items for further investigation or reporting to the appropriate government agency as required by anti-money laundering regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze a wide variety of information related to system or manually generated alerts to identify persons and entities that may be laundering money or funding terrorism, escalating as appropriate.
• Conduct a comprehensive review of high-risk clients to assess risks and provide a final recommendation to maintain or demarket the client relationship.
• Identify unusual activities and behaviors across multiple products, analyzing information and referring transactions that may relate to money laundering or terrorist financing.
• Support the fulfillment of reporting requirements by ensuring accurate documentation, timely disposition, and provision of critical information assessment.
• Provide detailed input to MIS for analysis and reporting on information from assigned systems to detect name matches or unusual activity.
• Support the utilization of AML systems and tools by participating in ongoing training to develop and maintain knowledge and skills.
• Document all information found throughout the investigation, developing and maintaining account files to ensure compliance with operating directives and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to all aspects of our code of Business Conduct and Ethics, including safeguarding of customer information and anti-money laundering protocols.

Required Qualifications

Education: An undergraduate degree is required. A graduate degree or professional designations would be beneficial.

Experience: 2+ years of AML experience is required.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of complex financial instruments and interbank lending.
• Working knowledge of applicable banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel for spreadsheet management and manipulation.
• Knowledge of AMLEO.
• Analytical Thinking (In-depth).
• Problem Solving (Working).
• Organizational Understanding (Working).
• Risk Management (In-depth).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a middle office function of capital markets.
• Knowledge of capital markets products such as correspondent banking, trading products, and trade finance transactions.
