Onsite Contract Management & Operations

About The Role

As Alliance Director, you own CBRE’s most strategically significant client relationship, one client, multiple sites, touching nearly every dimension of how CBRE shows up for a partner: finance, people management, engineering, facilities management, and workplace experience.

About The Role

As Alliance Director, you own CBRE’s most strategically significant client relationship, one client, multiple sites, touching nearly every dimension of how CBRE shows up for a partner: finance, people management, engineering, facilities management, and workplace experience.

This client is sophisticated and has high expectations. Think less “service provider” and more “personal concierge with deep industry expertise,” paired with the operational and financial rigor required to run a complex, multi-site facilities management portfolio.

You are accountable not just for the relationship, but for the performance of the account, including service delivery, financial outcomes, and operational excellence. This includes owning the P&L, ensuring contract compliance, and leading integrated facilities management services across locations.

This role requires a strong on-site leadership presence and is expected to be in the office five days per week, particularly during the initial transition period, as the account enters a critical phase of transformation and long-term partnership evolution.

The client is a global financial services organization that values ingenuity and moves with real conviction, matched by an equally intense sense of accountability. Standards are not negotiated away. You will need to show up not as a relationship manager, but as a true thought partner, someone with deep knowledge, a genuine point of view, and the credibility that comes from both strategic thinking and hands‑on experience managing large-scale operations.

A typical week might open with a strategy review at a flagship site, shift to coaching a team member through a service issue at another location, and close with you identifying a new opportunity within the account that nobody had thought to pursue yet. You will move between macro and micro constantly, from long‑range account planning to the exact tone of a follow‑up email, and you will need to be genuinely good at both.

The best version of this job is one where your client experiences CBRE the way guests experience a great hotel: everything feels effortless, every need is anticipated, and switching to someone else is unthinkable. If that standard excites you rather than exhausts you, keep reading.

What You’re Accountable For

  • Full ownership of the account P&L, including revenue growth, cost management, and margin performance
  • Leadership of integrated facilities management delivery, including engineering, maintenance, and workplace services
  • Ensuring operational excellence across all sites, including compliance, risk management, and service quality
  • Driving financial governance, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Leading a matrixed team across service lines such as FM, engineering, workplace experience, and project management
  • Maintaining contractual integrity, including SLAs, KPIs, and scope adherence
  • Identifying and executing on value creation opportunities such as efficiencies, transformations, and expanded scope

WINNING IN THIS ROLE MEANS

  • The relationship is deepening, and the client brings CBRE into strategic conversations earlier, across more sites, and on decisions beyond day-to-day operations
  • Every client interaction reflects a consistent, premium standard; the client remarks on the experience, not just the outcome
  • You are consulted on strategy, not informed after decisions are made
  • Your team is hitting targets, developing professionally, and enjoying the work; performance issues are addressed early
  • New opportunities, including expanded services, additional sites, and increased scope, are identified and converted before the client looks elsewhere
  • Financial performance is predictable and strong; budgets are proactively managed and the account meets or exceeds margin targets
  • Facilities operations run seamlessly across all locations with high standards in engineering, maintenance, and compliance

YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE AND SUCCEED AT IT IF

  • You build trust unusually fast. Clients feel genuinely known by you, not managed
  • You have hospitality instincts. You think about the experience a client has, not just the outcome they receive
  • You operate with a high standard of accountability. You say what you mean and consistently follow through
  • You are a coach first, a manager second. People who have worked for you tend to stay in touch
  • You think in outcomes, not activities
  • You know how to grow a relationship, not just maintain it
  • Complexity does not rattle you
  • You are equally comfortable in client strategy conversations and operational or financial reviews
  • You understand what great looks like in facilities management and workplace operations, and you hold teams accountable to that standard

THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE RIGHT ROLE FOR YOU IF

  • You prefer clearly defined scope and find evolving client needs frustrating
  • Obsessing over the details of client experience feels exhausting rather than energizing
  • Managing people is something you do because it comes with the title
  • Growing a client relationship feels uncomfortably close to sales
  • You prefer highly structured environments over building and evolving the playbook

What You Bring To The Table

  • We hire for skills over pedigree, but the strongest candidates will have:
  • Proven ownership of a large, complex client account, ideally across multiple sites or geographies
  • Direct experience with integrated facilities management, including oversight of engineering, maintenance, and workplace services
  • Demonstrated ownership of an account‑level P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management
  • Strong understanding of operations, service delivery, and performance frameworks such as SLAs and KPIs
  • Genuine affinity for hospitality and premium service standards where the bar is not just meeting expectations but exceeding them
  • Real experience leading and developing teams through growth, change, or transformation
  • A track record of growing accounts, including expanding scope, services, or geographic footprint
  • Strong contract and commercial acumen, including negotiation, renewals, and governanceThe ability to operate confidently with both executive stakeholders and technical or operational teams
  • 8+ years in alliance management, facilities management, or strategic account leadership

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
