Under the guidance of the Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools, the ALOP Teacher's goal is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Essential Functions
- Takes and enters daily attendance per school policy
- Maintain structured classroom procedures, utilize effective classroom management strategies, and enforce all school policies
- Activate new classes for students as needed
- Oversees student progress through each online class; provides 1-1 and small group assistance when needed
- Completes grading of activities in a timely manner and maintains accurate records of grades
- Assigns necessary assignments, lessons, quizzes, and tests in the online class software
- Creates supplemental/ enrichment activities and/or identifies additional resources to address students' academic needs
- Monitors student progress by running regular progress reports; identifying students who are off track
- Reports on all behavioral, social/emotional, or personal student concerns to the Assistant Regional Superintendent
- Recognizes student achievement and positive behaviors in the classroom
- Proficient in written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a variety of settings
- Advocacy skills, including the ability to negotiate, compromise, and confront conflict
- Ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of staff
- Ability to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Able to multitask, establish deadlines for material production, and inform Assistant Regional Superintendent when issues/challenges arise.
- Bachelor's degree
- Illinois Professional Education License
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
- It mainly involves office work, with some standing or walking, exerting up to 10 pounds of force regularly, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, and copier.
- The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to, and build relationships with a diverse clientele
Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000
