Alternative Education & Behavior Coach
The School District of Wausaukee is seeking an Alternative Education & Behavioral Coach to manage alternative learning pathways and student behavioral intervention programs. The successful candidate will identify the academic and socio-emotional needs of at-risk students, maintain a supportive learning environment, and implement trauma-informed practices and behavioral strategies.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer behavioral intervention procedures; handle referrals and confer with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies regarding behavioral plans.
- Assist instructional staff with classroom management strategies, individualized behavior plans, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed instruction.
- Manage attendance, credits, engagement, and graduation tracking for alternative education students; assist with transitions between alternative and traditional settings.
- Coach students in self-regulation and coping strategies. Supervise students during arrivals, departures, lunch, recess, passing periods, and assigned afternoon/evening activities.
- Document student behavioral data, interventions, and academic progress in Infinite Campus.
- Participate as a core member in IEP, and 504 meetings.
- Prepare and maintain district, county, state, and federal records related to alternative education enrollment and interventions.
- Valid Teaching License or Specialized Behavior/Counseling Certification
- 3-5 years of experience is preferred in an alternative education or special education setting.
- Strong skills in leadership, conflict resolution, crisis de-escalation, and student information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with at-risk students, parents, and colleagues.
