Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist with experience in Pulmonary Function Testing to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various age groups in different clinical settings.
Position Details
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation Hours: 12 hours
- Patient Ratio Experience: 1:8
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Community hospital experience is required; trauma level experience is preferred.
- Current South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider license.
- National certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and NBRC (RRT) must be in hand at the time of start.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience with adult critical care, emergency department, and neonatal/pediatric services is preferred.
- Proficient in ventilator management including BiPAP and CPAP.
- Capable of interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) and basic EKGs.
- Ability to administer medications and utilize various respiratory equipment such as nebulizers and high flow nasal cannulas.
- Experience with airway management and tracheostomy care.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with IV teams, physical therapy, social services, and other interdisciplinary services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Additional Information
This position does not require floating to sister facilities. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), team assignments may include emergency response duties.
Patient Age Groups
The candidate will provide care to patients across all age spectrums, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Work Environment
The role requires a flexible approach to meet the needs of the facility, including floating to various units such as labor and delivery when necessary.
