Registered Respiratory Therapist
This is a fully-accredited healthcare facility committed to the care and improvement of human life, featuring over 1,100 employees and 500 physicians. The facility is a 266-bed acute-care hospital that offers 24/7 emergency services and a comprehensive range of medical services, including specialized centers for pediatrics, senior care, bariatrics, behavioral health, cancer care, and more.
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be part of a team dedicated to providing high-quality care. The unit includes:
- Number of Beds: 266
- Patient Ratios: To be determined based on daily admissions and acuity.
- Type of Equipment: Various ventilators and BiPAP machines.
- Documentation System: Meditech.
- Scheduling Requirements: Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.
- Floating Policy: Will rotate throughout all inpatient units.
- Patient Experience Requirements: Utilization of AIDET communication.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in critical care and emergency care settings.
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP.
- Advanced skills in performing procedures such as aerosol treatments, BiPAP management, and ventilator management.
- Familiarity with ICU, ER, and critical adult care is essential, with involvement in weekend rotations.
The Respiratory Therapy team consists of 30 skilled professionals with diverse experiences. Therapists are empowered to work at the top of their licenses, engaging in various tasks including intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assistance. Team members collaborate closely within the interdisciplinary team, participating in daily rounds and contributing to the comprehensive care provided to patients.
The department employs state-of-the-art equipment to enhance patient care, including:
- Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
- Vapotherm devices
- Philips V60+
- Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers
