Aircraft Systems Engineer 2We are seeking a full-time Aircraft Systems Engineer 2 in our New Century, KS or Wichita, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the aircraft system safety assessment process in support of Garmin STC projects.Essential Functions:Work with system safety analysts to establish the system safety approach and documentation necessary to show compliance for Garmin STCApprove Functional Hazard Analysis, qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and particular risk/common cause analyses as required to certify the STC installationsGenerate Functional Hazard Analysis, qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and particular risk/common cause analyses as required to certify the STC installationsInterface with Hardware, Software and EMC groups to ensure appropriate design assurance levels are consideredApprove test plans and reports and other data supporting system safety assessment processWork with engineers to generate and approve compliance statements for and other regulations that require system safety substantiation in support of Garmin STC projectsProvide guidance and mentoring to Aircraft Systems Engineer 1Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Detailed working knowledge of aircraft manuals and drawings and the content required for FAA certificationGood understanding of FAA regulations and ability to design for complianceDemonstrated solid understanding of commercial avionics interface standards and their installationProficient use of software specific to job functions (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FaultTree+, etc.)Advanced understanding of avionics, electrical/mechanical design, installation and certificationMust be detail-oriented, work proactively and effectively with supervision coaching, and can prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environmentDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communicationDemonstrated advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Electrical Systems, Structures, Mechanical Systems, System Safety, HIRF/Lightning, or Aircraft CertificationDesired Qualifications:Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
