Remote Contract General

Aircraft Sustainment / Liaison EngineerLiaison (Sustainment) Engineer supporting line maintenance and heavy maintenance depot operations at US Air Force bases.Essential Functions:Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders.Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance.Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support.Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required.Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs).Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations.Education and Experience Requirements:BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural EngineeringTwo plus (2+) years in specific technical disciplineRequired Unique Skills:Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasksKnowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manual (AMM, IPC, CMM)Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needsAircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desiredAbility to pass a Tier 1(minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts.

Existing security clearance is preferredLocation / Travel:This is a REMOTE position with no relocation requirement. Travel to USAF bases will be required once per month (minimum) for 3-4 days at a time. All travel costs are covered (including, flights, hotel, rental car, GSA per diem, etc.).

Additionally, the travel locations/frequency are subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed.This is a salary position including paid time off and health insurance benefits.
