Aircraft Painter

Pay Range: 24-25/hr

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience with painting in a professional environment in aviation or autobody
• 5+ years experience with direct application of painting high gloss surfaces and encompassing prep to achieve "show car" finish
• 5-7 years experience minimum of paint prep (see above)
• Able to train individuals on how to properly apply a variety of paints to multiple surface (preferred)
• Advanced to expert knowledge in spray gun usage and adjustments of paint mixtures for proper spray application
• Advanced to expert knowledge of equipment setup for paint application
• booth setting such as light, filters, air pressure, etc…
• Advanced to expert knowledge of stencil application for post paint surfaces
• applying after minimum cure time ensuring the painted surface will not be damaged once stencil is removed
• proper placement/alignment of stencils along various curvatures of vertical and horizontal surfaces.

Job Description

This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing aircraft or specialty surfaces to a high-gloss, "show quality" standard. Day to day, the individual will perform extensive surface preparation, mix and apply paints using advanced spray gun techniques, and ensure all paint applications meet strict quality and appearance requirements. They will also set up and maintain painting equipment and booth conditions, including lighting, filters, and air pressure, to achieve consistent results. Additionally, this person may apply stencils and markings after paint cure times and could help train other painters on proper paint application techniques and best practices.
