Aircraft Engine Mechanic

An Aircraft Engine Mechanic performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines and propulsion systems. Key duties include:

• Troubleshooting malfunctioning engines and related components, determining necessary repairs, and performing diagnostics.
• Operating and troubleshooting Automated Ground Test Systems for aircraft jet engines.
• Performing sequential disassembly and assembly of gearboxes and auxiliary power units.
• Conducting evaluations and test cell operations to ensure engines operate within acceptable parameters.
• Performing scheduled and special evaluations on installed engines and associated systems.
• Certifying the performance of aircraft engines and ensuring aircraft safety for flight.
• Managing supply assets and maintaining accurate records in maintenance systems.
• Providing technical advice and training to other work centers and personnel.
• Initiating corrective actions for recurring malfunctions and recommending program changes.
• Managing hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
• Participating in readiness evaluations and performing additional duties as required.
