Aide, SPED FOCUS Elementary
Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including the FOCUS (Life Skills) Program, self-help, behavior management and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the supervisor and the immediate direction of a certified teacher. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid SBEC Educational Aide certificate
- Associate's Degree or 48 or more college hours or NCLB ParaEducator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity

- Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

- Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
- Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
