This part-time role involves using soaps, germicidal detergents, and cleaning supplies to sanitize designated areas, tools, materials, and equipment. You will also be responsible for receiving and distributing laundered supplies, ensuring patient care areas are stocked with clean linens.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and service assigned areas including walls, ceilings, windows, furniture, equipment, sinks, mirrors, doors, lights, toilets, showers, shelves, cupboards, vents, water fountains, and garbage cans.
- Remove garbage, patient-related waste, and soiled linens while performing routine, repetitive tasks with attention to safety for patients, self, and coworkers.
- Work under close supervision, performing standardized tasks quietly and efficiently.
- Be willing to train and rotate between multiple district facilities such as clinics, hospital, and administrative offices as needed.
- Participate in special projects and other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Housekeeping experience is preferred; hospital-based experience is a plus.
- Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures.
- Strong reading and comprehension skills for written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills and commitment to excellent customer service.
- Ability to operate common cleaning tools and equipment.
Physical Requirements
This role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 35 pounds, and pushing or pulling up to 35 pounds. Normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities are necessary, with or without corrective devices.
Work Environment
This position operates on an 8-hour shift schedule within a 40-hour workweek. The work setting includes various healthcare facilities across the region.
