Motivated by ensuring AI safety and societal benefit, the full-time AI Safety Fellow will engage in empirical research projects using external infrastructure, benefiting from mentorship and community connections while producing public outputs such as research papers. Key responsibilities Conduct empirical research aligned with AI safety priorities and produce public outputs Collaborate with mentors and peers in a shared workspace to enhance research quality Utilize external tools and models to explore and address AI safety challenges Required qualifications Fluency in Python programming A strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics Availability for full-time commitment during the 4-month program Experience with empirical ML research projects Motivation to reduce risks associated with advanced AI systems
