Position Overview Altamira is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML products within secure, mission-critical environments. This role focuses on building and maintaining data-driven applications.The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience developing AI/ML applications, working with business / intelligence analysts to design, implement, and test AI/ML based analytic tools using one or more of the following frameworks.
Senior forms of this role include providing training to build institutional capability and self sufficiency.Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize applications utilizing:TensorFlow; PyTorch; Pytorch Lightning; Scikit-learn (aka SKLearn); Keras; Computer Vision; GANsSupport application packaging, versioning, and release management processesExperience with model validation and trackingCollaborate with platform, infrastructure, and security teams to support system requirementsImplement best practices for scalability, reliability, and performanceTroubleshoot application, database, and deployment issues in distributed environmentsSupport continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesParticipate in system accreditation, compliance, and audit activitiesDocument system designs, configurations, and operational proceduresQualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Entry level to 10+ years of experience in software or AI/ML development rolesExperience with the above mentioned tools and applicationsAbility to operate in secure, compliance-driven environmentsExperience developing distributed or data-intensive applicationsExperience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programsExperience with CI/CD tools and automation frameworksExperience with MLOpsFamiliarity with DockerExperience with performance tuningExperience working in hybrid or air-gapped environmentPythonC/C++RustAltamira is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
