AI Implementation & Governance Specialist

Norwalk, United States | Posted on 09/25/2026

Advises departments on responsible, high-value adoption of enterprise AI: readiness assessment, use-case prioritization, governance aligned to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, proof-of-concept delivery, and knowledge transfer so County staff can sustain AI capability independently. This is advisory/consulting and organizational-change work - application development is a downstream concern the Specialist coordinates on, not the core job. Currently one req on record; expect volume to grow as public-sector AI adoption matures, and watch for this profile splitting into separate Governance/Strategy vs. AI-Enablement variants.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct AI readiness and opportunity assessments across business and operational functions
  • Identify, prioritize, and roadmap high-value AI use cases
  • Establish governance and responsible-AI practices aligned to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework
  • Design and oversee AI proofs of concept and pilots
  • Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, security, privacy, bias, and maintainability
  • Establish prompt engineering, data-handling, and validation standards
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions across executive and technical audiences
  • Build internal capability through structured knowledge transfer, documentation, and training curricula
  • Define and measure AI adoption, business value, and ROI

Requirements

  • AI readiness assessment, use-case identification, and adoption change management
  • Prompt engineering standards and reusable prompt/pattern libraries
  • Power Platform / Power BI for workflow and productivity integration
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) - beneficial, not core
  • Executive- and technical-level briefing and documentation skills

Experience Required

  • 5+ years (within last 7) leading or supporting enterprise technology or digital-transformation initiatives
  • 3+ years evaluating/implementing AI, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions
  • 2+ years developing AI strategy, readiness assessments, or governance recommendations
  • 2+ years designing/delivering AI POCs, pilots, or production implementations, including validating AI-generated work
