Our client, a leading global litigation law firm, is seeking an AI Advisor to join its Innovation team and work directly with case teams to integrate AI into active litigation matters. This hands‑on role will serve as a dedicated AI resource to attorneys, designing and refining prompts, building reusable AI skills and workflows, evaluating outputs, and advising teams on when and how AI should be used across the litigation lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring substantive experience with legal AI platforms such as Harvey, Legora, or CoCounsel, practical experience building workflows in modern LLM platforms, strong prompt engineering skills, and an understanding of litigation processes. This role will also support AI governance, training, technology evaluation, and firmwide adoption while partnering with data science and engineering teams on more complex solutions. While this is not an eDiscovery role, candidates with an ESI background that possess the relevant skills will be considered. This is a flexible‑location position with at least one day per week in the office strongly preferred at any of our client's offices.

About the Role

The AI Advisor will join the Innovation team in a hands‑on, matter‑facing role focused on helping litigation teams effectively incorporate AI into active matters.

  • Embed directly with case teams as a dedicated AI resource, participating in matter discussions and helping attorneys determine where AI can add meaningful value.
  • Design and refine prompts based on real litigation needs and develop reusable AI skills and workflows for recurring legal tasks.
  • Develop deep expertise in the firm’s legal AI platforms and advise attorneys on what available tools can and cannot effectively accomplish.
  • Support broader firmwide AI adoption, evaluation, training, and capability development.
  • Work directly with case teams on active litigation matters as their dedicated AI resource.
  • Provide responsive, hands‑on support to attorneys with prompt development, refinement, and execution for specific litigation tasks.
  • Develop, test, refine, and execute prompts and AI skills aligned with case strategy, matter objectives, and jurisdictional considerations.
  • Identify litigation activities that are appropriate for AI and advise teams when AI is not the right solution.
  • Proactively engage practice groups to identify opportunities and increase adoption rather than relying solely on incoming requests.

Matter‑Facing AI Advisory

  • Work directly with case teams on active litigation matters as their dedicated AI resource.
  • Provide responsive, hands‑on support to attorneys with prompt development, refinement, and execution for specific litigation tasks.
  • Develop, test, refine, and execute prompts and AI skills aligned with case strategy, matter objectives, and jurisdictional considerations.
  • Identify litigation activities that are appropriate for AI and advise teams when AI is not the right solution.
  • Proactively engage practice groups to identify opportunities and increase adoption rather than relying solely on incoming requests.

AI Tools & Workflow Development

  • Develop expert‑level knowledge of the firm’s general‑purpose legal AI platforms and proprietary AI tools, including newer and less frequently used capabilities.
  • Create, test, and maintain reusable Skills, Workflows, and Projects within platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Develop solutions supporting document review and summarization, chronology development, deposition and transcript analysis, records review, and drafting.
  • Maintain a firmwide prompt library and workflow playbook to preserve successful approaches and make them reusable across matters.
  • Standardize successful AI solutions and expand their use across practice groups in partnership with Innovation and Technology teams.
  • Collaborate with data science and engineering resources when requirements exceed the capabilities of available off‑the‑shelf platforms.

AI Evaluation & Governance

  • Evaluate AI‑generated outputs against established criteria before they become part of attorney work product.
  • Document the capabilities and limitations of AI workflows and their resulting outputs.
  • Design and implement human verification processes between model‑generated content and materials provided to clients or courts.
  • Support responsible AI governance relating to data privacy, confidentiality, privilege, firm policies, and client requirements.
  • Track AI usage across matters and identify potential risks or inconsistent practices.

Training & Capability Building

  • Develop and deliver practical, practice‑specific AI training for attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
  • Create AI onboarding resources for new hires.
  • Lead recurring enablement initiatives, including workshops, office hours, and peer‑learning sessions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools, models, and vendor solutions and provide clear recommendations regarding adoption.
  • Monitor adoption and gather feedback from case teams to continuously improve workflows and training.
  • Document solutions and processes so they can be maintained and expanded by others.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in legal technology, litigation support, eDiscovery, knowledge management, practice innovation, legal practice, or a related environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands‑on working knowledge of legal AI platforms such as Harvey, Legora, or CoCounsel, with demonstrated depth beyond basic familiarity.
  • Practical experience developing reusable assets such as Skills, Projects, and Workflows within modern LLM platforms or comparable tools.
  • Demonstrated prompt engineering expertise for substantive professional tasks, including real‑world examples.
  • Working understanding of the litigation lifecycle, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, expert work, motions, and trial.
  • Comfort working with structured data, document collections, and scripting.
  • Ability to evaluate AI‑generated outputs against defined standards and clearly explain their capabilities and limitations.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear language for attorneys and clients.
  • Ability to constructively challenge proposed AI use cases when the technology is not appropriate.
  • Strong service orientation, responsiveness, and reliability when supporting teams under litigation deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior law firm experience.
  • Paralegal certification, J.D., or previous experience embedded with litigation or eDiscovery case teams.
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery technologies and workflows, particularly Relativity.
  • Experience supporting trial preparation, witness preparation, or expert work.
  • Experience with Python or another scripting language.
  • Experience designing and delivering training to professional audiences.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, conducting pilots, or evaluating legal technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with document management, docketing, case management, and other legal technology platforms.

Location & Travel

  • Flexible location, with at least one day per week in the office strongly preferred.
  • Travel as needed to support case teams and conduct training, approximately once per quarter.

Expected salary for this role is up to $150,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
