Overview
AHD Radiologic Technologist, Multi-Modality (MAMMO & DIAGNOSTIC) — Per Diem, Varied shift, 8 hours. Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multi-Modality) performs a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations in the Department of Radiology/Imaging Services, Alameda Health System, following established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Rotate assignments within the department by assigned shifts to meet departmental needs.
- Process images for each Modality (CR/DR/Film) and use the PACS system for image management.
- Maintain adequate records of examinations, doses, and contrast, using two patient identifiers for each exam.
- Assist with patient movement, rooming, and transportation as needed.
- Assist in development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures.
- Assist with procedures or equipment not routinely taught in school, as applicable.
- Assist in training of students when needed.
- Perform a variety of technical procedures with independent judgment, within designated areas.
- Perform general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as required by the employer.
- Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination.
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the environment and supplies.
- Ensure use of non-expired supplies by checking stock and applying first-in, first-out stocking.
- Produce radiographs, position and transfer patients, and provide immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images.
- Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards and promote ALARA principles for each patient.
- Select and operate all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform.
Qualifications
Required Education : High school Diploma or equivalent; Graduation from an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Preferred Education : Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience : Proficient in a minimum of three modalities, including CT, Mammography, MRI or as applicable
- Modalities may include: X-ray and Fluoroscopy plus at least one additional modality
- CT (Computed Tomography) — ARRT CT Certification required
- Mammography — CRT (M) required
- MRI — ARRT MRI Certification required
- Permanent lead for designated shift
- Primary responsibility for MQSA compliance through record keeping and reporting
Required Licenses/Certifications : Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification; ARRT certifications as applicable to each modality; valid Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California; BLS - Basic Life Support Certification (AHA).
Note: Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, along with required licenses or certifications, is considered qualifying.
Pay Range : $66.47-$83.96/HR
