To support advanced agricultural modeling initiatives, the contract Agronomic Systems Modeler will lead the development and application of predictive models for crop performance, collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams while focusing on data-driven decision-making across diverse crop production systems. Key responsibilities Analyze production systems and methodologies to support continuous improvement in agricultural operations Develop and validate crop modeling approaches to quantify Genotype Environment Management interactions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide technical guidance and maintain awareness of industry trends Required qualifications Master's or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline Strong experience with APSIM, DSSAT, or similar crop models Deep understanding of crop physiology and major U.S. row-crop production systems, preferably corn and soybean Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R for modeling and analytics Experience managing large agricultural datasets and utilizing AI-assisted development tools
