Agentic AI Software EngineerWe are seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer – Agentic AI to join a fast-growing, high-impact program focused on delivering next-generation AI-enabled capabilities. Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions supporting advanced Agentic AI capabilitiesArchitect and implement autonomous agent systems leveraging agentic workflows, reasoning engines, and multi-agent collaborationIntegrate AI agents with enterprise applications and distributed systems using APIs, standard protocols, and modern software architecturesManage the complete software development lifecycle from concept and design through deployment and sustainmentDevelop clean, maintainable, testable, and efficient code following modern software engineering best practicesBuild and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs supporting scalable and resilient applicationsCollaborate closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and mission stakeholders to rapidly deliver new capabilitiesParticipate in Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, technical reviews, and retrospectivesDevelop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliabilityTroubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system performance across cloud and on-premise environmentsSupport continuous improvement efforts by evaluating emerging AI frameworks, tools, and engineering approachesQualifications: Required:Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with adjudicated PolygraphBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field8+ years of professional software engineering experience using object-oriented programming languages, with significant experience in PythonStrong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenanceProficiency with git, and experience with a modern source control platform (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar), including branching strategies, code review, and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with issue tracking and documentation tools like Jira and Confluence (or equivalents)Experience developing microservices and RESTful APIsExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environmentsHands-on experience building with LLMs or agents in any context, including production systems, prototypes, or substantial personal projectsHands-on experience with any agent framework (Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Pydantic AI, etc.). We care more about how you think about agent design than which framework you've used.Familiarity with agent communication and tooling protocols (MCP, A2A), or experience implementing tool-use / function-calling in an LLM-based systemRAG architectures, vector databases, or agent memory systemsPrompt engineering, evaluation frameworks (Langfuse, MLflow, DSPy), or experience tuning LLM systems for reliabilityAbility to collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering teamsStrong communication and problem-solving skills in fast-paced technical environmentsDesired:Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or AzureExperience deploying and managing Kubernetes environments with HelmExperience with modern frontend development using React or AngularFamiliarity with JavaScript and/or TypeScriptExperience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesExperience using modern development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jira, and ConfluenceIAT Level II or III certification (Security+, CISSP, CASP, etc.)What You Can Expect:A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
