Job Description:
We are seeking a Principal Agentic AI Architect to provide senior-level technical leadership for the modernization of Financial Crime technology platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GenAI, Agentic AI, cloud-native architecture, enterprise architecture, and large-scale software engineering, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable and secure technology solutions.
This role will lead the architecture and implementation of AI-powered investigation platforms, decisioning engines, agentic workflows, and modern cloud-native solutions supporting Financial Crime and Risk functions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Define and drive the long-term technology strategy for Financial Crime modernization initiatives.
- Lead the architecture and implementation of AI-powered investigation platforms, decisioning engines, and agentic workflows.
- Establish engineering standards, design patterns, reference architectures, and technical best practices.
- Serve as a senior technical authority for architecture, security, scalability, resiliency, and performance decisions.
- Lead technical design and architecture reviews and influence enterprise technology direction.
- Develop modernization roadmaps and present technical strategies to senior technology leadership.
AI & Agentic Engineering
- Design and implement Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions for:
- Investigator copilots
- Alert triage and disposition
- Risk assessment
- Entity resolution
- SAR narrative generation
- Customer screening
- Knowledge retrieval and decisioning
- Evaluate and implement modern AI technologies, including:
- LLM orchestration
- AI agent frameworks
- Vector databases
- RAG architectures
- Model routing
- AI guardrails
- AI observability and monitoring
- Partner with Data Science teams to operationalize AI/ML models into scalable, secure production platforms.
- Lead AI-focused proof-of-concepts, rapid prototypes, and technical experiments.
Engineering Excellence
- Write and review high-quality production code when required.
- Establish software engineering standards and best practices.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical guidance across engineering teams.
- Drive automation, CI/CD, DevSecOps, testing, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges across multiple platforms and teams.
Platform Modernization
- Lead modernization and migration of legacy Financial Crime applications to cloud-native architectures.
- Architect scalable microservices, event-driven systems, and API-first platforms.
- Design enterprise capabilities supporting:
- Real-time risk assessment
- Customer screening
- Case management
- Regulatory reporting
- AI orchestration
- Data ingestion and processing
- Drive adoption of cloud technologies and modern enterprise platforms.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Data Science, and Engineering leadership.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Present architecture strategies, technology roadmaps, and modernization initiatives to senior and executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience architecting, designing, and leading delivery of large‑scale technology solutions.
- 5+ years of experience delivering cloud‑ready and cloud‑native solutions.
- 4+ years of experience presenting technology strategies and complex technical concepts to C‑level executives and large audiences.
- Strong experience with enterprise architecture, distributed systems, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience developing or deploying AI‑powered solutions, including:
- Generative AI
- LLM‑based applications
- AI‑powered automation
- Chatbots
- Agentic AI / AI agents
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, guardrails, and AI observability.
- 4+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Experience with Financial Crime, AML, fraud, risk management, customer screening, or related platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, event‑driven architecture, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
