Afterschool Behavior Technician – $25/Hour | Part-Time

Amergis Staffing is seeking dedicated and compassionate Afterschool Behavior Technicians to support students in school-based afterschool programs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children develop behavioral, social, and emotional skills in a structured and supportive environment.

Position Details

Position: Afterschool Behavior Technician

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time

Hours: 20–25 hours per week

Shift: Afterschool hours (typically 1:00 PM–6:00 PM, depending on site)

Position Overview

The Afterschool Behavior Technician provides direct behavioral support to students through one-on-one and small-group interventions. Working alongside teachers, school staff, and behavioral specialists, this role focuses on helping students build positive behaviors, strengthen social skills, and improve emotional regulation.

The Behavior Technician also assists in implementing behavior intervention plans and supports students during homework time, structured activities, and daily transitions.

Key Responsibilities

Implement behavior intervention plans under the guidance of school staff and behavioral supervisors

Provide one-on-one and small-group behavioral support during afterschool activities

Support students with emotional regulation, social skills development, and coping strategies

Assist students during homework sessions, recreational activities, and transitions

Collect and document behavioral data and student progress

Collaborate with teachers, behavioral specialists, and program staff

Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

Encourage student engagement and positive behavioral outcomes

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or GED

Must be at least 18 years of age

Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work afternoon and early evening hours

Preferred

Experience working with children in schools, ABA programs, childcare, camps, tutoring, or related settings

Two (2) years of pediatric or behavioral support experience

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification

Current CPR certification, if applicable

TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray clearance, if required

Experience working with children with special needs
