Affordable Housing Transactional AttorneyDirect Counsel is seeking an Affordable Housing Transactional Attorney with 6–8 years of experience to join a sophisticated real estate and public law practice serving affordable housing developers, public agencies, and community development stakeholders throughout California.This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with significant experience in affordable housing policy, development, and financing transactions who is passionate about working on projects that have a meaningful impact on communities.ResponsibilitiesStructure, negotiate, and draft affordable housing development and financing agreementsPrepare and negotiate loan documents, ground leases, regulatory agreements, easements, and related transactional documents for multifamily housing developmentsAdvise clients on affordable housing policy and regulatory compliance mattersSupport affordable housing acquisition, development, financing, and disposition transactionsCollaborate with developers, lenders, public agencies, and project stakeholders throughout all phases of developmentAssist with complex real estate and public-private partnership transactionsQualifications6–8 years of transactional legal experience focused on affordable housing mattersSignificant experience with affordable housing development and financing transactionsStrong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client counseling skillsExperience with first-time homebuyer programs, construction documents, and commercial leasing is a plusAbility to manage sophisticated transactions independently while collaborating effectively with clients and colleaguesCalifornia Bar admission requiredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $190,000 – $225,000Annual performance-based and billable hours bonusesMainly Remote – Must reside in California!Reasonable billable hour expectationsCompetitive health insurance benefits and 401(k) with partial matchStrong mentorship and long-term career development opportunitiesThis opportunity offers sophisticated transactional work, meaningful client interaction, and the chance to play a key role in affordable housing initiatives that make a lasting impact throughout California.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply through Direct Counsel.
