Pay
Toyon provided pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr . The posted pay range values provide guidance on annual base compensation for a full-time position, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, and may vary by candidate education, experience, and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Toyon is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to join a team designing mechanical prototypes of reentry bodies and related configurations. This position requires a strong background in the application of materials to the design of articles subjected to high temperature environments. This individual will play a key role in the development of the design of aerospace vehicles and evaluation of their performance.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) with emphasis on heat transfer, mechanical design, and structural analysis and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with predicting aerothermal heating in supersonic/hypersonic environments, including the response of thermal protection materials to aerothermal environments.
- Experience using a variety of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and phenomenologically based boundary layer and inviscid flow codes.
Security and Eligibility
U.S. Citizenship is Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required. Candidate must be SAP and SCI program eligible.
