Job summary

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center is seeking an Advanced Programs Lead Systems Engineer to support and execute IPC and TTP Advanced Programs contracts. The Lead Systems Engineer will guide multi-disciplinary teams across requirements development, integration, verification, and technical decision making for the Advanced Programs portfolio. The selected candidate will ensure engineering consistency, drive closure in verification activities, and maintain alignment across program teams to support predictable cost, schedule, and performance. This is an onsite position located in McKinney, Texas.

What You Will Do

  • Lead end-to-end requirements development, decomposition, and traceability across all IPC and TTP Advanced Programs
  • Ensure unified verification planning and drive verification closure across hardware, software, and system-level activities
  • Coordinate system-level integration planning and execution to prevent technical divergence across IPTs
  • Maintain consistency in engineering processes, documentation, and technical decision‑making across programs
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Systems Engineers, IPT Leads, and cross‑functional teams
  • Ensure alignment between design, integration, and manufacturing to support test readiness, quality, and performance
  • Champion risk management and technical baseline control
  • Communicate program status, risks, and issues to leadership, suppliers, and customers
  • Support proposal development, BOEs, cost modeling, and advanced program strategy
  • Participate in technical reviews, SRR/SDR/PDR/CDR, and verification readiness reviews
  • Represent Systems Engineering in multi‑disciplinary program meetings and technical decision boards

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer with knowledge of working systems requirements, executing verification plans and experience performing or planning System Integration, Verification and Test
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
  • Experience working on the production phase of a program and knowledge of manufacturing validation of testing and test optimization
  • Design Verification Testing and Environmental Testing Requirements Management experience, including the decomposition of requirements; specifically using digital engineering tools such as CAMEO and DOORS
  • Decomposition of System Requirements
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Validation Test: The minimum set of tests to detect manufacturing caused defects at the lowest process level that ensures a safe, reliable product while meeting Takt requirements
  • DSI Express Tool SmartSim/FSIM
  • Correlation of first pass yield rates within failures in manufacturing validation testing
  • Theory of Constraints within production lines and factories

Salary

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD.
