Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiothoracic Surgery

Full-Time | 4x10s, Monday through Friday | Rotating Call | Naples, FL

n

This is a first-assist surgical Advanced Practice Provider role inside a busy, full-service cardiothoracic program in Naples, Florida. You will be in the OR for CABG, valve procedures, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, esophageal surgery, and more, then following your patients through the post-op ICU. Qualifications

Required:

n
    n
  • n

    Active PA-C/NCCPA certification

    n
  • n
  • n

    DEA registration

    n
  • n
  • n

    Current BLS and ACLS certification

    n
  • n
  • n

    Minimum 2 years of CT surgery experience

    n
  • n
  • n

    Vein harvesting experience (required)

    n
  • n
  • n

    Demonstrated surgical exposure across: CABG/bypass, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, esophageal surgery, first-assist in OR, post-op ICU management, and chest tube management

  • n

    Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider program

    n

  • n

    Board certification in area of specialty (board-eligible candidates considered with commitment to obtain certification within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

    n
  • n

    First-assist in cardiothoracic surgical cases including CABG, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, and esophageal surgery

    n
  • n
  • n

    Perform vein harvesting independently

    n
  • n
  • n

    Manage post-operative patients in the ICU including chest tube management and hemodynamic support

    n
  • n
  • n

    Take rotating call coverage

    n
  • n
  • n

    Collaborate with the surgical team and interdisciplinary staff to develop and implement patient care plans

    n
  • n
  • n

    Deliver direct patient care under approved protocols with physician supervision

    n
  • n
  • n

    Document patient care accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards

    n
  • n
  • n

    Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families

    n
  • n
  • n

    Participate in quality improvement, performance evaluation, and continuing education activities

    n
  • n
  • n

    Contribute to policy development and clinical program growth as the department expands
