Job PurposeThe position performs professional-level work as an advanced practice provider delivering high-quality medical services across multiple clinic areas, including maternal health, women's health, sexually transmitted disease services, and child health.
The role focuses on accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based care while supporting public health goals and coordinated clinical operations.ResponsibilitiesProvide prenatal, postpartum, and primary medical care in both routine and group-based maternity care settingsDeliver women's health and family planning services, including preventive screenings, contraceptive counseling, gynecological care, and long-acting reversible contraceptive proceduresProvide well-child care and access appointments in the child health clinicDeliver care to adolescents and adults in sexually transmitted disease servicesAssist with tuberculosis-related medical care as neededObtain and document relevant customer histories and perform appropriate physical examinationsOrder, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and screening testsDevelop assessments and care plans based on clinical findings and document all services in the electronic medical recordPrescribe medications and contraceptive methods and dispense medications as appropriatePerform insertion and removal of approved long-acting reversible contraceptive devicesProvide health education, counseling, and follow-up planningArrange referrals and consult with collaborating providers as neededOffer clinical consultation within scope of practice to nursing staff across service areasSupport clinic coordination and assist with care coordination functions as neededProvide superb customer service, treating every individual with dignity and respect while actively working to improve the human condition through compassionate, high-quality careQualificationsMinimum Education and ExperienceLicensed or approved to practice as a physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or certified nurse midwifeAt least one year of experience as an advanced practice providerPreferred QualificationsTwo or more years of advanced practice provider experienceExperience in primary care, pediatrics, and low-risk obstetric careExperience with group-based maternity care modelsAbility to independently perform contraceptive device insertions and removalsBilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, both oral and writtenSkills & AbilitiesThorough knowledge of medical history taking, health assessment, clinical evaluation, and care planning. Strong skills in performing clinical procedures, interpreting laboratory results, documenting care, and providing education and counseling.
