Inpatient Oncology & Hematology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA), Maryland
$110 - 153k plus annual bonus
Do you want to make a real difference for adults facing cancer? Join our team as an Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider. You’ll care for hospitalized medical oncology and hematology patients alongside a collaborative group of physicians and providers.
What you’ll do
Inpatient care
- Round on hospitalized oncology and hematology patients
- Support admissions and discharges
- Share in on-call coverage
Assessment and treatment
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused physical exams and take medical histories
- Order and interpret lab work and diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and recommend other therapies
- Refer patients to the right care when clinically indicated, and consult promptly when a case goes beyond your scope or expertise
Patient counseling and documentation
- Counsel patients on their medical and psychological conditions, treatment plans and behavior changes
- Keep accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes
- Capture charges in a timely manner
Communication
- Work closely with admitting and referring teams
- Triage and respond promptly to all communications
- Take on other duties and projects as needed
What you bring
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (Master’s degree required)
- Active Maryland APRN or PA license
- Prescriptive privileges, or eligibility to apply
- Current board certification
- Current BLS
- 5+ years of experience as an APRN or PA, including oncology experience
- Strong physical assessment and communication skills
- A genuine passion for caring for adult cancer patients
