In this role, you will provide high-quality audiology care while gaining exposure to specialty services that may include vestibular diagnostics, cochlear implants, pediatric audiology, auditory evoked potentials, newborn hearing screening, and care for medically complex patients. For an audiologist who wants breadth, mentorship, clinical challenge, and room to grow, this role offers more than a traditional diagnostic and hearing aid practice.The Role:As an Audiologist with UVA Audiology, you will primarily support adult patients through diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid services, hearing rehabilitation, and vestibular and balance assessments. You will work closely with ENT providers and multidisciplinary colleagues to support continuity of care and strong patient outcomes in a major academic medical center environment.This role is well suited for an audiologist who enjoys a mix of independence and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to build a growing clinical caseload, help patients navigate hearing health decisions, and contribute to a team that values high-quality outcomes, patient retention, and thoughtful follow-up care.An average day may include:Performing general diagnostic audiology evaluations for adult patientsPartnering with ENT providers to support patient assessment, treatment planning, and follow-upManaging patients through the hearing aid evaluation, fitting, counseling, and rehabilitation processConducting vestibular and balance evaluations, including rotary chair, VNG, vHIT, and VEMP testingBuilding long-term patient relationships through education, counseling, and continuity of careCollaborating with audiology colleagues across specialty areas such as cochlear implants, pediatrics, newborn hearing screening, and medically complex careSupporting a patient-centered practice where clinical judgment, communication, and rehabilitation skills matter every dayAdvanced Practice Provider Scope of Practice:ClinicalProvides expert evidence-based, top-of-scope care in their clinical practiceActs as part of a specialty team, collaborating with other clinicians as appropriateProvides hearing health education to patientsMaintains accurate, timely, and thorough documentationEnsures compliance with institutional and regulatory standardsLeadershipSupports development of best practices and protocols in specialtyServes on committees and workgroups to enhance patient careProvides education to learners in the clinical spaceMentors new team membersAdministrationContributes to clinical quality improvement workParticipates in professional governance through the APP CouncilAttends team development meetings at local and departmental levelsProfessionalAdheres to ASPIRE values in all professional interactionsMaintains appropriate licenses, certifications, and specialty training competenciesParticipates in local, state, and national professional organizationsBackground checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment.
