DescriptionJob SummaryTampa General Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team. This is an opportunity to practice within a highly specialized cardiovascular program caring for patients with advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.Working collaboratively with Advanced Heart Failure physicians and a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team, the APP will evaluate, admit, and manage medically complex patients across inpatient and critical care settings.
The role provides significant exposure to advanced heart failure therapies and offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in the care of a highly complex cardiovascular population.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and admit patients with advanced heart failure and other complex cardiovascular conditionsProvide ongoing inpatient and ICU-level managementParticipate in the management of patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support, including LVAD, IABP, Impella, and ECMOManage patients receiving acute and chronic inotropic therapiesProvide care for patients throughout the pre- and post-heart transplant continuumParticipate in hemodynamic assessment and management of critically ill cardiovascular patientsCollaborate closely with Advanced Heart Failure cardiologists, critical care, CT surgery, perfusion, transplant services, nursing, and other members of the multidisciplinary teamScheduleVariable shifts supporting a 24/7 Advanced Heart Failure service, including rotation through days, nights, weekends, and holidays.QualificationsPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with appropriate acute care certificationCurrent or eligible Florida APRN or Physician Assistant licensureNational board certification as applicableAdvanced Heart Failure, transplant, cardiology, cardiovascular critical care, or other relevant high-acuity inpatient experience preferredStrong interest in the care of complex cardiovascular and critically ill patientsJob Field: Advance Practice ProviderJob Type: On SiteOrganization: Tampa General Medical GroupSchedule: Full-timeShift: Variable
