Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical office serving the Midwest. This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering comprehensive patient care including assessments, treatments, testing, and education within a pediatric clinic setting. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, infection prevention, and proper handling.
- Administer medications (oral, IM, SC) as prescribed.
- Assist providers with procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.
- Support examinations within the scope of practice.
- Conduct phone triage and act as liaison between patients and providers.
- Communicate test results and assist with follow-up calls.
- Document patient complaints and visit details accurately.
- Escort patients, obtain vital signs, and update medication lists.
- Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens.
- Educate patients on electronic health record access and benefits.
- Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, managing precertifications.
- Train new LPNs and medical assistants.
- Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course.
Experience:
Nursing or healthcare experience preferred but not mandatory.
Certification/License:
Current LPN license valid in the state of practice.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
Requires considerable mental focus, ability to lift up to 35 lbs., and perform activities involving standing, walking, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions:
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, occasional encounters with hostile individuals, and minimal physical discomfort expected.
