Advanced LPN | Licensed Practical Nurse

As an Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will support physicians and mid-level providers by performing patient assessments, administering treatments, conducting testing, and delivering patient education.
Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays.
• Support examinations within the scope of your license and perform phone triage.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and addressing patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight.
• Manage and update medication lists and patient summaries.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients and guardians about electronic health record portals and encourage enrollment.
• Provide patient teaching and supportive services as needed.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary precertifications and authorizations.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Education
Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.
Experience
Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Certifications and Licenses
Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of practice. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions
Expect frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Exposure to communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is common, with minimal physical discomfort.
