As an Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will support physicians and mid-level providers by delivering patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education with professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
- Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
- Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile environments and managing instruments.
- Support examinations within the scope of your license and perform phone triage.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and addressing patient inquiries.
- Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight.
- Manage and update medication lists and patient summaries.
- Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
- Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.
- Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, handling precertifications and authorizations.
- Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
- Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain excellent attendance.
Education
Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.
Experience
Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Certifications and Licenses
Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of Missouri and possess American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements
This role requires significant mental focus, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and frequent walking, standing, and various physical movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching.
Working Conditions
