Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing essential support in a busy outpatient clinic setting. In this role, you will assist physicians and mid-level providers by performing patient assessments, administering treatments, conducting testing, and delivering patient education with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
- Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
- Support providers during procedures by maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.
- Assist with patient examinations within the scope of your license.
- Conduct phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers, including communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
- Document patient complaints and visit details accurately.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and measurements.
- Manage and update patient medication lists and summaries.
- Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
- Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.
- Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
- Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course.
Experience:
Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Certifications:
Current LPN license valid in the region and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Requires significant mental focus, ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and perform activities involving standing, walking, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions with patients. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
