Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist

The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is seeking a dynamic, fellowship-trained advanced heart failure transplant cardiologist to join their heart program in Florida. In this role, the physician will work within a thriving program supported by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team and participate in advanced heart failure and transplant call coverage. The position offers the opportunity to be part of a high-volume transplant center featuring a vibrant mechanical circulatory support device program, an ECMO program, and a robust cardiogenic shock program.

Practice Info

• Supported by the full AdventHealth healthcare system, which includes 50 hospitals in nine states with 30 in Florida.
• Operates a vibrant and growing Mechanical Circulatory Support Device program, a fully developed ECMO program, and multi-organ transplant capability.
• Performs 40-45 hearts and 30-50 mechanical circulatory support devices per year.
• Features a robust cardiogenic shock program with over 250 temporary mechanical circulatory devices implanted per year and a state-of-the-art 9900 shock unit.
• Utilizes a state-of-the-art 32-bed critical care unit dedicated to the cardiothoracic transplant service.
• Located just outside downtown Orlando close to the charming Winter Park community, with an office site steps away from the hospital in an adjacent medical office building.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross coverage for advanced heart failure and transplant call.
• Work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists and social workers.

Requirements

• Fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant.
• Board certification is required in Cardiovascular Disease and in Advanced Heart Failure.
• Ability to perform right and left heart catheterizations and biopsies.
• Interest in inpatient and outpatient.
• Interventional training not required but accepted.
