Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist - Director of Cardiac Amyloidosis

AdventHealth Transplant Institute (AHTI) is seeking a fellowship-trained Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to direct its Cardiac Amyloidosis Program. This physician leader will drive the growth of a comprehensive multidisciplinary amyloidosis program, aiming to establish a premier regional referral center within one of the nation's busiest Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD, and Heart Transplant centers. The role offers a unique opportunity to lead program expansion, collaborate with diverse medical teams, and contribute to clinical excellence, education, and research.

Practice Info

• Comprehensive Advanced Heart Failure, LVAD, and Heart Transplant Program
• Performs 60 heart transplants annually
• Performs 70 LVAD implants annually
• Established regional referral network across Central Florida
• Advanced cardiac imaging including echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, nuclear imaging, and PYP scintigraphy
• Hematology partnership for AL amyloidosis

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a comprehensive multidisciplinary cardiac amyloidosis program
• Expand an established regional referral network for ATTR and AL cardiac amyloidosis
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hematology, neurology, nephrology, genetics, cardiac imaging, nursing, and research
• Lead multidisciplinary amyloidosis conferences, quality initiatives, and physician outreach
• Expand participation in clinical trials and improve patient access to emerging therapies
• Care for patients across the spectrum of advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation
• Participate in the Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant inpatient service and donor call schedule
• Evaluate patients for advanced heart failure therapies, including mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation when appropriate

Requirements

• Fellowship-trained Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist
• BE/BC in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology
• 3+ years of post-fellowship experience
• Strong clinical passion for cardiac amyloidosis
• Interest and expertise in multidisciplinary program development and physician leadership
• Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and research
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Willingness to work with HCM program - accredited as Center of Excellence
