Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board‑certified or board‑eligible advanced heart failure transplant cardiologist to join our Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team serving the Greater Austin Region.
The role supports both inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant services at Lakeway and Round Rock hospitals, with responsibilities across the LVAD/HTx program including inpatient rounding, VAD/HTx clinics, ECHO interpretation, and invasive procedures such as right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors, and endomyocardial biopsies.
Responsibilities
- Duties include inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation service.
- Perform inpatient rounding and VAD/HTx clinic services.
- Interpret ECHO for VAD and heart transplant patients.
- Execute invasive procedures including right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors, and endomyocardial biopsies.
- Provide coverage for transplant, inpatient and outpatient services.
- Support ACGME education of cardiology fellows and rotate on inpatient cardiac transplant service at BSWH Round Rock and BSWH Memorial Hospital, Temple.
Qualifications
- UNOS qualified for care of patients with cardiac transplants.
- Doctorate Degree in Medicine.
- Licensed to practice medicine in Texas by the Texas Medical Board.
- Board certified or actively pursuing board certification in Cardiology.
- Preferred experience with LVAD/HTx programs and advanced heart failure management.
