Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist

Carilion Clinic is seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join its growing Heart Failure services at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally recognized regional cardiac network within a 703-bed Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center. The position involves providing advanced heart failure services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, managing patients with mechanical circulatory support devices, and contributing to program development.

Practice Info

• Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 703-bed Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center.
• The Heart Failure Clinic will relocate to the new Crystal Spring Tower in July 2025, which will include additional exam rooms, an outpatient infusion suite, physician and APP offices, and a conference room.
• The Cardiovascular Institute will expand significantly with the opening of the new Crystal Spring Tower in July 2025.
• The hospital is home to 30 Graduate Medical Education Programs affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced heart failure services in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Manage patients with temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Heart Failure Program with a focus on improving access and expanding services.
• Participate in formal and bedside teaching of Cardiology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents, and other learners.
• Participate in Research as a core part of the Academic Mission.

Compensation

• Min Starting Salary: $520,000.
• Max Starting Salary: $748,056.
• Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.
• Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary.

Requirements

• Board Certification in Cardiology.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation.
