Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist with a strong interest in Heart Failure to join their staff at the Sanford Heart Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. This role offers a busy, revolving schedule covering hospital/consult service, clinic, and various labs. The position is supported by a robust team including general cardiologists, electro-physiologists, interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and advanced practice providers.
Practice Info
- Join staff including 7 general cardiologists, 3 electro-physiologists, 4 interventional cardiologists, 4 cardiothoracic surgeons, and 10 advanced practice providers.
- A Heart Failure Specialist will be joining the team in February 2024.
- Hospital service is supported by advanced practice providers.
- Internal Medicine residents are assigned to hospital service.
- Cardiac CT, MRI & Cardio MEMS available.
- LVAD shared care site with 2 Heart Failure NPs & 2 RN Heart Failure Navigators.
Responsibilities
- Provide history and physical examination.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services for adult patients presenting with diseases of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
- Cover hospital/consult service.
- Cover clinic duties.
- Cover echo/nuclear/CT/PET labs and reading.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements
- BC/BE Cardiologist with a strong interest in Heart Failure.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program.
- Completion of a fellowship in Cardiology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
- Certification by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
- Demonstrate active involvement of 100 cardiology procedures.
- For Level 2 and 3 Cardiologists (Invasive or Interventional Cardiologist), must include 50 cardiac catheterizations as primary operator during the past two years with satisfactory quality data (if applicable to practice).
