This full-time position offers the opportunity to practice both outpatient and inpatient psychiatry. The role also involves teaching psychiatry residents and medical students through an affiliation with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Services.

Responsibilities
- Practice out-patient and in-patient psychiatry
- Teach psychiatry residents and medical students through Sanford's affiliation with University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Services
- Perform history and physical examination
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients above the age of 12 who suffer from mental, behavioral, addictive, or emotional disorders

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Psychiatry residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
- Experience can be demonstrated by providing a resident log if just completed residency
- If not applying directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications
- If not applying directly out of residency, must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 30 patients in the last 12 months
- If a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinical activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 30 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months
