Job Title: MCCA Program Coordinator Job Goal: To further the MCCA program goals of delivering quality college transitions and career pathway education and services through program oversight, student recruitment, and community connections. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree • Strong communication and human relations skills - interpersonal, written, and public speaking • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Knowledge of career pathways, college transitions, nontraditional/adult learners • Ability to work within the timelines and requirements of grants • Ability to work flexible and cyclical hours depending on program need • Applied knowledge of social media, outreach/recruiting strategies, and marketing • Digital literacy - Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, social media • Authentic interest and passion for helping adults and nontraditional learners meet their educational and career pathway goals Position Description: • Actively seeks to understand the purpose and background of MDOE Maine College and Career Access Services program • Actively seeks to understand and explain to other advisors the current MCCA Guidelines • Participates in quarterly MCCA Coordinator conference calls with MDOE • Participates in monthly online state advisor meetings • Participates in monthly HUB directors meetings, as needed for program updates. Makes recommendations for advising and teaching practices that support MCCA goals. • Facilitates a professional learning community (PLC) of program advisors which meets monthly online or in person • As needed, disseminates information regarding advisor and student opportunities to other Hub advisors • As needed, travels between adult education programs throughout York County 1-2 times per academic year (mileage reimbursed) • As needed, travels to and provides support services to YCCC • Assumes primary responsibility for regional recruiting activities with specific emphasis on developing relationships with regional secondary school guidance departments • Acts as a liaison between MCCA and the community (i.e. educational institutions, service providers, Career Centers, employers, Chamber of Commerce) • Participates in Professional Development opportunities pertaining to college transitions and career pathways • Collects year-end data and contributes to the year end report due July 31. Salary Range: $30/hour, 650 hours yearly. No benefits attached to this position.
