Admissions Recruiter, Undergraduate Admissions - UT Chattanooga

Admissions CounselorThe primary purpose of an admissions counselor is to serve as a liaison between the university and the community at large. To serve in this capacity entails visiting with high school guidance counselors, students & their parents, and other education officials without supervision at private visits in high schools, college fairs, and at other special functions throughout Tennessee, Georgia, & Alabama.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities:Representing UTC at day & evening programs, high school visits, scholarship programs, etc. Primarily in Tennessee and surrounding statesInteracting with prospective students who visit or call the Admissions office including high school students, transfer students, foreign students, parents & adult studentsFollow-up with initial contacts made via mail, email, telephone & private visitsParticipate in specialized programs like Freshman Transfer Orientation, phone calling campaigns off campusPlan and coordinate recruitment events for prospective students in specified areas such as overnight trips to campusConduct daily tour talk presentations to visitors explaining college opportunities available to students enrolled at UTCTravel as needed with possible overnight stayCompetencies/QualificationsMust have organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple and ongoing projects, strong oral and written communications skillsKnowledge of admission policies and academic programsValid driver's licenseAbility to lift and load boxesQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree requiredMust have 1 to 3 years of campus involvement (RA, SGA, Orientation leader, tour guide, Enrollment Services offices, etc.) years related experience in recruitment and admissions either while in school or professionallyPreferred QualificationsTwo to three years of experience in a college admissions office or comparable collegiate/business experienceExperience with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and higher education in TennesseeReview of applications will begin 4/6/26 from posting and will continue until the position is filled.
