nPosition Summary:
nReporting to the Campus Director of Admissions, RH, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting, reviewing, and yielding first-year undergraduate students. This position is a member of a larger admissions team, all of whom are responsible for conveying the mission and essence of the University experience to both students, parents, counselors, and other influencers.
nThe Admissions Counselor manages a defined recruitment territory and manages projects and processes related to full-time undergraduate admission.
nThe role requires independent travel for 4-6 weeks per admission cycle, as well as some evening and weekend work.
nEssential Functions:
nManages a recruitment territory using qualitative and quantitative indicators such as relationship building, creativity with travel and recruitment strategies, independent management, volume, enrollment trends, and effective use of time and fiscal resources. Recruits prospective full-time first-year students.
nDevelops and demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the University’s mission, identity, academic programs, and admissions process, and communicates this information effectively and consistently with diverse audiences.
nReviews and evaluates full-time first-year admission applications in accordance with holistic review standards and established reading benchmarks.
nCollaborates effectively with team members, University colleagues, and external constituents (community, students, family, and counseling community) to meet enrollment goals and support prospective students.
nParticipates in office-wide programs and special projects and events, including open houses, admitted student days, and other initiatives.
nAttends and presents at local, regional, and/or national conferences.
nProvides timely, professional, and personalized communication and customer service to prospective students, applicants, and families throughout the admission process.
nMaintains accurate records of recruitment and evaluation activities within the admissions systems.
nRequired Qualifications:
nBachelor’s Degree.
n0-2 years of experience in Undergraduate Admission.
nValid Driver’s License.
nPreferred Qualifications:
nFamiliarity with Technolutions SLATE or similar admission CRM systems.
nBasic quantitative and analytical acumen.
nPossess skills required to read and synthesize information within compressed time frames for a high volume of application information.
