Interpreting Unit LeadThe New Jersey Judiciary, Mercer Vicinage, is seeking a well-organized individual to serve under the direction of Operations Division management. The selected candidate will serve as a lead member in the Interpreting Unit which will include daily scheduling and calendar management for staff and freelance interpreters.REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.Example of DutiesHandle all aspects of the hiring process for court-certified interpreters, including coordination for Video Remote Interpreting requestsConfirm requests are properly entered into OSMOSIS systemReview court activities for compliance with the Language Access PlanProvide timely professional knowledgeable customer serviceFoster teamwork and positive working relationships with the Judges, staff, court users, and agenciesVerify agency interpreter invoices and process payment vouchersReview the telephonic interpretation invoices to ensure accuracy and reach out to the divisions if additional information is neededAcquire an understanding of all court matters to ensure allocation of efficient interpreting resourcesUpdate Standard Operating Procedures, as necessaryPerform other related duties, as requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office is requiredRegular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Applicants who are approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply.
