Administrative Services Manager IIIThe Department of Mental Health is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Administrative Services Manager III vacancies related to the homelessness crisis. Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment. Before the end of your initial work period, you will be assessed on your work performance.
This assessment will be weighted 100%. Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Administrative Services Manager III.Essential Job Functions include planning, organizing, controlling, integrating, and evaluating the work of the assigned section; managing, supervising, and overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans, programs, policies, work processes, systems, and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives, and standards; managing section staff by establishing performance requirements and personal development targets; preparing and/or directing the preparation of, and reviews, a variety of documents; directing and overseeing highly complex and sensitive research assignments; interacting with individuals from a variety of organizations; actively participating in the development of options, programs, services, and positions; overseeing auditing activities and the ongoing evaluation of processes and programs; performing various administrative duties; and directing administrative professional and technical staff in the preparation and ongoing administration of the budget for a large County department.Minimum requirements include two years of bona-fide supervisory experience over a unit of analysts performing assignments within one or more of the following administrative fields: human resources, budget, finance, contracts or other closely-related administrative field - AND - two additional years of experience at the level of a journey analyst or higher within one or more of these administrative fields. You MUST meet one of the above requirement(s) in order to be appointed to fill any vacancies related to this recruitment.

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions is required. Physical Class II – Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting.
Considerable ambulation may be involved.
