Answers telephones calls, relays messages, answers questions according to approve procedures. Assists in scheduling appointments, receives office visitors, and screens telephone calls/ mail. Distributes both school mail and United States mail.
Keeps an up-to-date log of absences and submits absentee- substitute payroll forms on special education staff and submits the forms to the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Director for Special Education. Types letters, reports, memorandums, graphs, proposals, procedures and initiatives, as necessary, orders supplies/materials for special education staff prepares requisitions for payment of reimbursements and services rendered to the office and students. Assists in gathering data for reports. Maintains and up-to-date file of correspondence, reports, and other matters pertaining to the Office of Special Education. Register special education staff attending workshops or conferences.
Assists other secretaries with extra duties as time allows. Assists in preparing agendas and handouts for staff development and meetings. Prepares work orders for reports, forms, and handbooks for printing services. Types requests and completes requisition for outside vendors/stockroom to be processed. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director for Special Education/ Coordinator.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not applicable WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to receive information and/or instruction from internal/external customers through spoken expression.
Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards. Ability to convey information and/or instruction to internal/ external customers through spoken expression. Ability to perform work while standing and/ or walking for extended periods, up to eight( 8) hours a day.
