This individual serves as one of the first points of contact for parishioners and visitors and plays an essential role in supporting the pastoral mission of the Church through professional, efficient, and compassionate service.The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic in good standing, understands and respects the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church, maintains strict confidentiality, and demonstrates exceptional organizational and communication skills.Ministerial Character:The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community.

In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

When this is a full-time position, the employee is eligible for medical insurance and other benefits offered by the Diocese of Corpus Christi.Key Responsibilities:As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal lifeActs as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic churchContinuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directedWelcome and assist parishioners, visitors, and volunteers with warmth, professionalism, and Christian hospitalityAnswer and direct phone calls, emails, and office inquiriesMaintain parish records, sacramental registers, databases, and confidential files with accuracy and discretionPrepare weekly bulletins, announcements, correspondence, and other parish communicationsCoordinate the parish calendar, meeting schedules, and facility reservationsAssist the pastor and parochial vicar with administrative tasks, scheduling, and special projectsProcess Mass intentions, sacramental requests, and other parish-related documentationMaintain office supplies, organize files, and ensure the parish office operates efficientlyCoordinate with parish staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers as neededSupport parish events and liturgical celebrations through administrative coordinationPrepare monthly schedules for Eucharistic Ministers and LectorsObtain a Food Manager Certification as serve as Kitchen Manager for special fundraising events (Fall Festival, Fish Fry, other fundraising events throughout the year)Perform other duties as assigned by the PastorVerify and prepare weekly bank depositsMaintain parish database, offertory database, serve as Diocesan Safe Environment CoordinatorCoordinate and support Religious Ed (CCD, Youth Group, OCIA)Mental/Physical Demands:Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more.Ability to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stress.Must maintain confidentiality.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious administrative or office experience preferredPracticing Catholic in good standing, (a candidate who demonstrates a strong understanding of and respect for the teachings, traditions, and mission of the Catholic Church)Valid Texas driver's license requiredSkills and Abilities:Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlinesKnowledge of effective use of technology including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), design software (Canva, Affinity Publisher, Photoshop)Strong public relation skills, organizational skills, and strong oral and written communication skillsMust have organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of general office functionsProfessional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills to tactfully deal with parishionersMust demonstrate ability to maintain confidentialityStrong commitment to serving the Church and its missionDependable, self-motivated, and trustworthyWelcoming and compassionate toward allFlexible and willing to assist wherever neededAble to work independently while collaborating effectively with clergy, staff, and volunteersAbility to learn parish management software and other office systemsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgmentAdditional Requirements:Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checkObtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family ResourcesPosition requires adherence to diocesan policies and proceduresChrist the King Catholic Church is committed to fostering a welcoming environment rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
