Starting Wage: $25.52+ / hourly - depending on experience.
Please note: In lieu of fringe benefits, PRN employees receive an hourly differential in addition to their hourly rate between 10% and 25% depending on position level.
Please note: In lieu of fringe benefits, casual employees receive a $2 an hour casual differential in addition to their hourly base rate of pay. Casual employees will not be scheduled to work a full-time schedule for more than four (4) consecutive months or more than 780 hours annually. Casual employees must work a minimum of one (1) shift within a 90-day period to maintain status and employment.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position serves as the primary and sole administrative support to providers, management/administration, and staff within the Emergency Department. The incumbent supports and works directly with physicians, mid-levels, nursing staff, patients, and other departments to coordinate and develop systems and processes that facilitate delivery of care within the Emergency Department. This includes:
* Working directly with providers and department leadership to develop and implement efficient patient care processes, ensuring appropriate integration with community care partners, and develop systems that promote reliable, high-quality care delivery.
* Working with physicians and clinical teams to modify ED electronic health record, T-System, to develop appropriate tools for clinical documentation, streamline operations, and aggregate data for quality improvement processes.
* Coordinating the day-to-day administrative operations of the department.
The incumbent is responsible for working with the Director and Nurse Educator to review consistency and accuracy of documentation and care in charts. This individual pro-actively identifies, researches, and recommends patient-oriented solutions related to unit processes or procedures, promoting quality of team performance, enhancing patient care, and improving customer service.
Additionally, this position assists with the operations of the department to include supporting the physician liaison, Director, and trauma nurse coordinator with committee functions, answering the phone, filing records, and assisting with web-based applications (Collective Medical, etc.). The ED Administrative Coordinator participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
* Education: High School or equivalent.
* Experience: Three (3) years of clerical/administrative experience.
* Substitution: Six (6) months as an Administrative Coordinator I at Bartlett Regional Hospital may substitute for the required experience.
* Substitution: Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education equal one month of experience).
