Adjunct ProfessorHouston Christian University seeks adjunct professors to join the Department of Law & Society with the ability to teach courses in our Criminal Justice program on campus and online.The mission of the College of Arts & Humanities is to provide for all university students robust, cross-disciplinary curricula that cultivate intellectual, moral, and aesthetic virtues within a Christian community.Job responsibilities include:Utilize a course syllabus for each course and follow established departmental and institutional guidelines.Provide timely, quality access to students via personal consultation, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.Evaluate students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.Submit paperwork and forms in a timely fashion.Perform other duties as needed.Qualifications include:MA, JD, or PhD in Government or Political Science.Professional experience in a related criminal justice field preferred.Teaching experience preferred.Ability to teach criminal justice courses in a manner consistent with the University's Christian mission and values.Houston Christian University is an independent, private Christian liberal arts university dedicated to the development of moral character, the enrichment of spiritual lives, and perpetuation of growth in Christian ideals.
