Job Summary
The School of Theology and Christian Ministry is accepting applications for an adjunct pool for the Fall 2026 semester. Candidates who meet the initial qualifications will be placed into an adjunct pool for consideration as positions become available.
Compensation
Adjunct pay is calculated based on a 3‑unit full semester appointment: $4,456 – $6,684. Units appointed will determine the exact salary.
Responsibilities
- Use appropriate instructional strategies and techniques for undergraduate level courses.
- Instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
- Prepare and write syllabi.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the specified discipline from an accredited university or seminary (Doctorate preferred).
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
- Ability to successfully interact with students, faculty, and the general public in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated Christian faith and active participation in a local Christian church.
- Agreement to live in accordance with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
- Successful completion of a background check (Fair Chance laws will be observed).

Additional Information
The number of adjunct instructors hired varies each semester. Depending on department needs, there may not currently be an adjunct position available. If you are contacted for a position, you will be invited to further dialogue and interviews. Approved applicants remain in the pool for the upcoming school year only; to be reconsidered for the next year, reapplication is required. All faculty candidates must prepare official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended before a contract is issued.
